The Brand Kit Process, have you ever wondered what happens when you hire someone to create one for you?

A Brand Kit is a set of logos, signatures, stationery, images and words in the colours and fonts that represent your business.

Consistent use of an awesome brand will make your business recognizable and memorable.

So exactly what happens in the Brand Kit Process? Here’s how I do things at Pink Toad Studio.

The Brand Process Pink Discover Dot

We get to know you and your business

The first step is getting to know each other. We can connect on the phone, through email or Zoom. Whichever is comfortable for you.

I’ll ask about your business. What you like and don’t like. How you want your customers to feel about you and your business.

I’ll ask what your favourite colour is and for 3 examples of websites you like. These give me an idea of your style.

This step also helps me figure out how we’re going to work with each other so there are no nasty surprises.

We take what we know and build the outline of your brand

With all that I learn from our meeting, I put together some options for you. Colours and fonts to start.

I also gather images for a “mood board”. Images that reflect the “vibe” of your business. These help me stay on track with your brand.

Words come in to play, as well. We find some base words that will provide the voice of your business. Professional, fun, caring, serious, playful, energetic come to mind.

Once we nail those we get to work on the logo. A logo can be an image plus your business name. Or it can be just an image. A stylized signature works well, too. I’ll provide several options for you to choose from.

This step may take a few rounds before we get to the perfect match for you and your business. But once we set the tone for your business, the real fun begins!

We create the files and instructions

Logos come in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes you need a vertical one – like for WordPress. Sometimes you need a square one – maybe for a business card.

There are also times when you’ll need a black and white or greyscale logo so I make sure you have those, too.

In this step I create a variety of logo files so you’re ready for anything.

With the logo done, I start creating the supporting templates. Templates for social media, stationery, and signatures.

The final step? A set of instructions on where all these great new designs can be used.

I deliver your Brand Kit

Now that all the pieces of the Brand Kit puzzle are finished, I hand it over to you.

You can now take the files and use them wherever they fit. Remember, consistency will create a memorable and recognizable experience for your customers.
