Here are 10 reasons your business needs a website. Every business, no matter how small, can benefit from a website. I hope my 10 reasons your business needs a website will convince you to get a website up and running for your business. Or to make the one you have even better!
1. Customers expect your business to have a website
What’s the first thing you do when you’re looking to buy? You probably do like I do and Google it, right? Well, your customers are doing the same thing. If they don’t find you online, they’re going to find a competitor.
2. You get a chance to showcase what you offer
Your products or services are unique to you and your business. There are customers out there who are looking for the exact thing you do, the way you do it. Tell them what that is on your website.
3. Not everyone keeps banker’s hours
Some people shop before they go to work in the morning or in the middle of the night when they can’t sleep. With a website, you can be there for them – whatever the time!
4. Let them know you’re serious
A website can be the difference between a hobby that makes money and a real business. If you want to be seen as a serious business, an awesome website is a must.
5. Reach more customers
Want to get your business in front of a large audience so you can attract lots of customers and make more money? A website can do that. According to Internet World Stats, 4,929,926,187 people were online in September, 2020. You can bet your ideal customer was one of them.
6. It’s YOURS
Social media is a great way to connect with customers. But what happens if the rules change or you do something the channel doesn’t like and they ban you? What if you want to move to another channel? You lose your following and your connection. The social media channel owns all those connections, not you. A website with an email list is yours to manage and it can move with you.
7. Marketing
Offering a new service or product? Let people know on your website! You can tell all the juicy details on your website. Whatever news you have about your business, a website is a great way to get that info out into the world.
8. Customer Support
Want a way to connect with your customers? A contact form or email address or phone number on a website can give your customers lots of ways to get in touch.
An FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page be there for your customers when they need help. It can tell them when you’re open or about your return policy. It can tell them how you ship things. You can build a library of questions to answer, unique to your business. It also saves you time because you won’t have to answer these questions over and over.
9. Provide value up front to build relationships
Not every customer is ready to do business with you right away. A website can get a conversation going with customers through a blog or emails so you can get to know each other. Customers are more likely to buy from someone they trust.
10. Google can find you
A website tells Google who you are and what you’re about. The more Google knows about you, the more often you’ll show up in search results. The more often you show up, the more customers you’ll attract and the more money you can make!
